Investigations
The Investigations Bureau primary responsibility is to investigate and follow-up on crimes committed in the City of Walnut Creek. If you have any questions or want information about a case we are investigating, contact a Detective Supervisor.
About the Bureau
The Bureau has:
- One Lieutenant
- Two Sergeants
- One Corporal
- Nine Detectives
- One Crime and Intelligence Analyst
Detectives are the investigative link between Walnut Creek Police and the Contra Costa County District Attorney’s office.
One detective is assigned to a FBI Task Force. They work with federal, state, and local law enforcement agencies to investigate crimes.
This division has two sections:
- Crimes against Persons
- Property Crimes
Crimes against Persons
The Crimes against Persons section includes:
- Homicide
- Robbery
- Sex Crimes
- Domestic Violence
- Crimes involving juveniles
This section also includes our Property/Evidence and School Resource Officers.
Property Crimes
The Property Crimes section includes:
- Property related crimes (Burglary, theft, etc)
- Financial Crimes
- Computer Crimes
- Narcotics
- Vice
