Report a Crime
You can file a police report by phone, in-person, or online. If the crime occurred outside of Walnut Creek, contact the law enforcement agency where the incident took place. For example, contact the Contra Costa Sheriff if the crime happened in an unincorporated area outside of the city limits. Filing a false police report is a crime.
If you have an emergency
Call 9-1-1 in an emergency, or if the crime is:
- In progress
- Violent (like personal assault, kidnapping, robbery)
- Sex crime (like rape, sexual assault)
- Stolen vehicle
- Residential burglary
- Domestic violence
- Traffic accident involving an injury
