Use the Community Crime Map to see where crimes are being reported in Walnut Creek. You can search for crimes by type of offense or by location.  Please note cases which are under active investigations may not be included in the Community Crime Map.

Using the Crime Map

• Enter “Walnut Creek, CA” in the search box
• Use the “Filter” button to set the time period you want to see incidents for. By default, the map will show one month of reports.
• Click on an icon to see more information about the incident.

How Data is Compiled

Community Crime Map data comes from police case reports written by our officers:

• Some incidents involve more than one crime, but all incidents will only appear once on the map. For example, if an incident involved a robbery and an assault, it would be listed under “robbery” because that is the more serious offense.
• Some crimes may not appear on the map because they do not have a specific address associated with them.
• Sometime crimes are reclassified after they’ve been investigated.

When Data Becomes Available 

• The map is updated daily and includes information for the last 6 months
• It may take several weeks from the time a crime is first reported to when it appears on the crime map
• Some crimes are reported weeks or months after the event
• Some information about crimes cannot be released right away because it would compromise an open investigation

The crime map includes information from many different agencies. Walnut Creek Police cannot provide information about crimes reported by another agency.

The crime map is provided for general informational purposes only. The map should not be understood as legal documentation about the total number of crimes reported.
